Remake Makes Top Spot For Debut Weekend

It was a rather slow movie weekend but the one and only movie debuting on the big screen cleaned up in a big way too! 21 Jump Street grabbed the top of the box office. The action-comedy – based on the 1980′s TV series of the same name – starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum debuted with an estimated 35 million dollars.

But, will Jump Street have staying power? Many think not as predictions have The Hunger Games which opens this weekend cracking the 100 million dollar mark for its opening weekend. The box office champ the previous two weekends – Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax - dropped to second place for the weekend.
