    New – Old – And 3D

    Another weekend has arrived so that means it’s time for some new movies to hit the big screen. This weekend – even though it’s Grammy Weekend – actually includes some possible good movie releases to catch. With three new movies to choose from and one old flick re-release in 3D there’s possible something for every one.

    There’s sequels and “stars” to be seen this weekend!

    New On The Big Screen

    Journey 2: The Mysterious Island – PG on 3,470 screens
    In the sequel to 2008′s Journey to the Center of the Earth, a 17 year old boy and his stepfather head to the South Pacific to respond to a distress signal emanating from a mysterious island. Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Hudgens and Michael Caine star in this film which is also screening in 3D.

    Safe House – Rated R on 3,118 screens
    Ryan Reynolds is a rookie CIA agent who’s forced to help a CIA traitor, played by Denzel Washington, escape from a safe house under attack. Vera Farmiga and Brendan Gleeson also star.

    The Vow – PG-13 on 2,958 screens
    A newlywed couple copes with his wife awaking from a coma and suffering from severe memory loss following their involvement in a car accident. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum star.

    Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace – PG on 2,655 screens
    The first film in the second Star Wars trilogy gets the 3D treatment. Liam Neeson is Qui-Gon Jinn, Ewan McGregor plays Obi-Wan Kenobi and Natalie Portman stars as Queen Amidala.
